The Paddle Wheel

Well, I crossed another one of the things off my, "things to do, now that I live in Manitoba" list.  The Paddle Wheel, which is a dinner cruise down the river in Winnipeg (again, pardon my ignorance, I'm not sure which one, there's several, I think it's the Red).  Here's some lovely shots of it (well, lovely for MB, I mean the dinner cruise in Vancouver is way way nicer)
The reason for finally being able to get this one accomplished was a going away party for a friend, the one in the middle of the grid.  This friend is a nurse who loves adventure.  She recently returned from a trip around the world, which included working in Australia for a few months, India for a month and all kinds of other travelling.  She is now getting ready to go to Iqaluit, NU to be a nurse there for at least a year.  If I'm really lucky, I might just get to go up and visit her...but we'll see, it's kind of far away and really really cold there.

  1. The cruise looks like fun! And I'd love to trade lives with your friend for the next year. What a cool experience she'll have!

  2. My sister is a nurse and is planning a trip around the world for later this year.

Enjoy readying your blog. You are great at keeping your friends updated of your lives, but also vulnerable & humble to share the blunders of life such as the baking and water counter stories.

  3. Susie,
I hope you don't take offense, but I am not totally sure if you are who I think you are. Can you give me a hint?
